Curt Aemisegger of Wauconda who bowls at Brunswick Zone-Hawthorn converted a stubborn 4 pin and filled with 10 in the final frame to just squeak by Ray Jenkins of Northbrook who bowls at the host center Lakes Bowl by a two-game total of 363-360. Aemisegger took home the first place prize of $275, a paid entry to the 2009 USBC Masters and a $500 expense reimbursement. The 2008 Lake County BA Masters Tournament drew a field of 27 of the top bowlers in the association. George Dougherty led qualifying with 1,354 for six games (225 average). High game for the tournament (290) was shot by Mike Maguire in game six to propel him from out of the top ten to the third seed for the bracket finals.
