Each season the Lake County BA makes charitable contributions to several local and national charities supported by the USBC. The Lake County BA started the Matching Grant Program in the 2007-08 season which makes a matching $25 donation for members, who in lieu of receiving a High Score Award, donate the cost of the award to a USBC supported charity. Fundraising for all of the Lake County BA Charities are through 50/50 raffles that the Lake County BA offers to each league in each center once during the season. The amounts of the donations made each season are contingent on the amount that is taken in during that season. The Lake County BA Charity Committee makes recommendations to the Lake County BA Board of Directors for approval other than the Matching Grant Program which depends on how many High Scores Awards are donated that season. For our local charities, we strive to choose organizations that offer some type of recreation program (bowling program is preferred). Matching Grant Program

The Lake County BA has sent a total of eight donations of $25 each to three USBC endorsed charities through our Matching Grant Program. The Matching Grant Program was started in 2007 and matches $25 for each member of the Lake County BA that donates their High Score Award (300 game, 800 series, 11 X’s-in-a-row) to a USBC endorsed charity in lieu of receiving an award.
