Joseph Pregrocki - Performance

     Joe has lived and bowled in Lake County area all of his life. He grew up bowling and working at Bowlarium Lanes in North Chicago. Joe has been involved in the sport of bowling all of his life. He is a former Lake County Bowling Association board member, has been involved in junior league coaching and has been president of the Hawthorn Classic League for 17 years.
     Some of his bowling accomplishments include Lake County Singles champion in 1972 at the age of 20; two Illinois State Tournament team titles; twice a member of Lake County Tournament scratch team champions; Lake County scratch doubles champion; Burlington Senior doubles champion; runner-up in senior Miller Life TV Stars; a member of the team that set the Lake County team record series (3,634); four 299 games; seven 300 games which include one in the Hawthorn Sport League and career high series of 815. Joe has held a combined average of 208 since 1994.
     It is for these accomplishments on and off the lanes that we proudly welcome Joseph Pregrocki in the Lake County BA Hall of Fame.

Michael Jacobs - Performance


     Mike has been a sanction bowler for over 25 years of league and tournament bowling. He was also the secretary of the prestigious North End Traveling League for many years. Mike has proven his skills on the maple with three Paddock Publication Tournament championships; a Lake County Tournament scratch doubles title; one Illinois State Tournament scratch team title; one Illinois State scratch doubles title; a second place finish at the ABC National Tournament in 1991 and was the 40 Frame Game champion in Ohio, 1991.
     Mike has had four 299 games; eight 300 games; five series over 800 including 814 which was bowled in the Hawthorn Sport League. This was the highest USBC Sport series shot for the 2006-2007 season.
     Mike has repeatedly proven his skills on the lanes and for this reason we bestow on Michael Jacobs the Lake County BA’s greatest award.

Gregory Olsen – Meritorious


     Greg has been a sanctioned bowler for over 40 years. He has been the secretary/treasurer of the Wednesday Night Men’s league at Fairhaven Lanes for 32 years. This gentleman keeps more records for his league than any person alive. If you need to know anything about bowling on his shift, Greg has everything you would want to know. Greg is regularly at the center early and always stays late to make sure everything is right for his bowlers. Besides being a dedicated league secretary, Greg has been a promoter for the game of bowling, he has been a squad organizer for over 20 years for many local and out-of-state bowling tournaments.
     Besides being a promoter of the game, he is an accomplish bowler with an 800 series, a 300 game, and a 299 game to his credit. Greg also has a Lake County Tournament team title to his credit.
     If you need someone to run your league or organize a bowling excursion, Greg is your man. For all his hard work and dedication to the sport of bowling, the Lake County BA awards Greg Olsen with our most prestigious honor.

Charles “Chuck” Sosebee  — Meritorious


     Chuck has been a Lake County sanctioned bowler for over 40 years. He came to the Lake County area while serving in the Navy. He began his years of serving the bowlers when he started working the counter at Bertrand Lanes in 1968. He attended Brunswick School of Management in 1971 and became manager of Sunset Bowl where he remained until his retirement in 1989. In those 21 years of service, Chuck was very instrumental in the art of promoting. He was the first to start a mixed traveling league which traversed most centers in Lake County. He was a member of the tournament committee for the metro Chicago proprietors. He was the first to host the Miller Lite doubles sectional and regional finals at Sunset Bowl. He also hosted the BPAA Team Tournament sectional and finals. Thorough his efforts Sunset Bowl was always well represented in the annual Lake County Championships Tournament.
     Chuck also has his share of bowling accomplishments. He has two 300 games, a 299 game and a series high of 797. When Chuck retired and moved to Las Vegas, he continued to spend his time promoting the sport of bowling by becoming a member of the local association board and then became their Tournament Director. For all his time and effort that he has put forth through out the years, the Lake County BA awards Charles “Chuck” Sosebee its highest honor.
